Color Trends For Kitchen Makeover

This is our own kitchen makeover for our home we will share with you the progress as we do our redesign.

How we started our redesign process.

1) We took inventory of our kitchen and decided what we needed to make it warm and functional. Our family gathering place.

2) Went though our design layout, how we wanted to place the cabinets if we were going to keep existing cabinets and just reface them or replace them.

3) Were we going to keep our dining table and chairs or match the new design with all new furniture?

4) What was our color pattern what were the new color trends to follow in case we decide to sell our home that would make it more marketable and desirable to potential buyers?

5) We like to cook so were we going to replace our existing electric range for a new gas top which is our preference as we like to cook with gas better?

6) Were we going to have an island, was it going to be one that was movable to suit our family needs?

7) What lighting did we want for our new design overhead lighting, a new ceiling fan that would now fit our newly designed style. Would we put Lighting over the counters and island?

8) What type of windows did we want and what would the expense be if we put in new glass sliding doors. How much natural light did we want and how much we wanted to blend our new kitchen design into the outdoor space?

9) Would we have an outdoor patio or deck and how would it flow from the kitchen?

10) Flooring what were we going to do with our floors? Keep the existing flooring which was stone tile, go with hard wood or my favorite laminate flooring.

11) The overall look for space. Were we going to take out any of the existing walls to create a more open feel to our new kitchen? It is very much in demand to have a nice open kitchen, it is a big plus when selling your home.

12) What was our over all budget and how much of a time frame were we looking to have it completed from start to finish?

This was the beginning of our process of our new kitchen design, our check list.

We knew that Larry was going to do most of the work himself in the construction and remodeling of our new kitchen. So we did not have to look for contractors to do the work. This would also help us in the over all budget as we do not have to pay for contractor work and he has a team of contractors who we work with to work on the project with him.

We started our with adding glass sliding doors. We will take you through the steps and then add our final photos of the new Kitchen Redesign as it will soon be reaching final completion.

Our next step was the color scheme this was really important to us so that our kitchen had the look and feel of what we wanted.
